One of my fave Trek episodes ever. So funny.

EDIT: addressed dumb spelling error 🙄

@User47 That whole section was apparently completely unscripted, it was just 2 actors at the top of their game just riffing off each other.
As for the rest of the episode, many people have pointed out that is it HUGELY problematic, especially for a show that priodes itself on it's progressive credentials.
It looks like the writers had an idea and ran with it, and somehow neveer thought about it's actual impact.
It is also very poorly timed within the season - I think it was just the episode prior where Spock talked about self harm, trying to excise his Human half, and then THIS happens.

@mancavgeek @User47 This makes me realize something about why I like Strange New Worlds so much more than I liked Discovery, even when, as with this one, I didn't love the premise of a particular episode. The people making Strange New Worlds seem like they're having a lot of fun doing it, whereas I never got that sense from the people making Discovery.

I could be totally wrong, maybe the people who made Discovery all had a blast. But it just doesn't seem to show on screen. #StarTrek

@mancavgeek I can totally see how folks could get upset by this episode. But at the end of the day everyone gets along, and despite their differences the humans and Vulcans are homies of the deepest order. I thought it was hilarious even if the premise of full species transformation was pretty stupid.

Airing placement near the excising the human half was a bummer.
