I was just looking at iFixit for how to replace the battery in my laptop myself. £103 for the battery and tools vs £249 with Apple is quite tempting, but my god, the process looks very technical and hard.

@Erased_Citizen I used to be able to charge a fortune for replacing MacBook internals. Because they were such bastards to do.

Never ever EVER even think about doing a keyboard swap, you’ve already lost 98 (not an exaggeration) screws.

@Erased_Citizen I’ve looked at similar for my old MBP. Annoying as it would be a decent spec for a home server, but not sure I have the patience. Well I certainly don’t at the minute.

@Erased_Citizen You wouldn't pay much more to pick up a used Pro M2, buy it online via CEX and you have 14 days to make sure the battery is okay and return it if not 😁🤣

@kDelta I had been thinking if I was going to get one, I'd go for a refurb M3 Pro model. I kind of want to stick with the 16" size though despite the price jump. Curse my lack of employee discount.

@Erased_Citizen Are you sure you can't get one? You'll know the tricks yourself, I forget that when I tooted them to you the other day. I forget you also worked in a fruit shop 🤭
