Dear real internet.
Because search is so terrible and failing me: do you know of any LibreOffice Calc ChartType Add-ins?
Basically the selection of chart types is pretty rotten and I'd like to be able to generate other things.
But I can't find anything.
And it would surprise me greatly if such a customisation had never been achieved before. Especially since the in built options are so basic.
@doctormo This one might offer a few more types?

Top bar: Insert | Second Item from the top: Charts | I see 10 choices.
You can of course look for more extensions ( that's another option )
But normally those 10 cover most ideas and concepts. -

For charts I use python and matplotlib these days. I know that's another learning curve you have to ride on but I thought I'd mention it as another web search phrase.Yes, I could write a chart extension in inkscape. But I didn't want my data to become separated from my chart.

Apologies for reinterpreting the question a bit but I genuinely thought this might help:
I switched from LibreOffice to Grist. It has a python/plugin interface, so you can do anything you can imagine. Also, you find plugins on GitHub. Maybe it's worth a shot for you too.

@doctormo maybe the charts in ONLYOFFICE are better?

@aaronkurz @doctormo They're not. OnlyOffice supports only the basic 2007-era OOXML charts. It does support surface charts, which LO does not. LO supports bar-of-pie/pie-of-pie, which OO does not.

@doctormo Are there specific chart types you want that aren't supported? Do you want the new types in Microsoft Office, or others that MS doesn't provide?

Various.
Variability ranges (have a bottom and top number to an area chart).
Combine more types, but this just annoys be that chart types can't be stacked unless supported internally.
There's some stats based charting that would be nice too.

@doctormo I once searched (not high and low, mind you) and came up with nothing. I'm surprised it cannot do boxplots or Likert scales.
