@cammerman the thing is, radiations wasn't that poorly understood. factory bosses worked out that it was harmful when lots of their workers who were exposed to it a lot kept coming down sick with the same symptoms. they just surpressed the information for as long as they could, because people finding out would be bad for business
just like how fossil fuel companies were the first to discover global warming and made sure to proactively spread misinformation about it
@cammerman they're counting on people not understanding and being excited by their product. they would like to keep things that way

@cammerman Did we learn our lesson? I did research on dental radiography (a.o. panoramic images) There is still an enormous misuse of radiation in medical and dental practice. It’s an easy way of making money and therefore a triggering factor. The radiology rate should be $ZERO and included in diagnostics.

Panoramic dental x-rays are equal to about 4-hours in an aircraft at 30,000’. Radiation treatment after a mastectomy is a rust colored burn that goes through the ribs to the edge of the lungs. -
@cammerman I once had a wrist watch with dials and numbers that glowed in the dark. And that was only 50 years ago.

@cammerman I always remember the old copies of "science" magazines from early 1900, with ads selling radioactive elements to eat and feel "healthier"!
Still isn't enough, as I heard some years ago of people drinking colloidal gold and silver, for a presumed "healthy" effect -
