Why isn't the "free market" automagically fixing this unrentable glut of overpriced rental housing?
Are the landlords not afraid of the vacant unit tax? How many have gone bankrupt and had their assets liquidated to return to the market at viable pricing? Are they buoyed by subsidies, low rates, and favourable laws to be able to wait it out too long?
