While waiting for other things to dry/cure/print/whatever, I continued my other scale model project, the B737-800. It's printed with the Snapmaker so the layer accuracy isn't super perfect, but I'll hose it with automotive body filler and sand it down. I put some plastic filler in the spots where the three ~30cm parts are glued together. #3dprinting #scalemodel

@monte_leo1337 No, my CAD/Blender skills aren't quite there yet, plus I'd need a lot of reference pictures. So far I can do smaller parts.

After the automotive body filler had dried, I sanded it down. The striping shows nicely how uneven the layering is in my old beast of a 3D printer. I'm going to do another round of the same and then paint the base color.

@apzpins very cool. I just love seeing people's projects take shape, especially ones like yours that are so different from anything I might create (fiber artist here.) I hope you will share more as you go.

@temporal_spider Thanks! These planes are a rare case of just for a fun of it prints as I mostly tend to make parts for repairs and other purely functional stuff.
This Boeing 737-800 follows the Airbus A320-CEO I did couple of years ago. I made probably every possible mistake with it, the biggest being installing a printer upgrade and then doing a 72 hour print job expecting the printer would've kept its configuration and settings as it had always done. Except in this case it lost all of its fine tuning and made really ugly prints. The only saving grace was that this model is so big the imperfections aren't that visible from the intended viewing distance when this are hanging from the roof.
I'll try to learn from those mistakes in this one.
