AGI/Vista - "Sono stato io a rendere pubblico di essere rimasto a Dubai e ho scelto di restare, avrò sbagliato come ministro e chiedo scusa, ma lì c'erano i miei figli e sono dopo averli accompagnati a Mascate, sono rientrato. Ero a Dubai perché avevo deciso di concedermi un periodo di vacanza e potevo scegliere di partire in maniera istituzionale e poi ricollegarmi alla mia famiglia o partire con loro. Sarei potuto partire subito, ma sono rimasto nel bunker con gli altri italiani. "C'erano i miei figli, io ho fatto questa valutazione, gli Emirati non erano coinvolti, ma erano tra i pochi Paesi" dell'area a essere contrari all'attacco. Forse dovevo abbandonare là i miei figli e tornare in Italia, ma sono rimasto. Questa è la parte privata che mi dispiace dover rendere pubblica". Lo ha detto Guido Crosetto, ministro della Difesa, in audizione in Commissioni congiunte III Senato e III e IV Camera in merito alla situazione in Iran e nei Paesi del Golfo.
