@catselbow I'm going to plant some more! One is under a tree, and I need several where I can see them. On my list...contact Piedmont master gardeners group and see who they recommend in the Valleyfor landscaping (less lawn) advice.

Stumbled across this several days later. Once my son and I were walking on a snowy street and one of these started rolling alongside us with the wind. It stayed with us for an entire block. We were laughing our heads off. -

@mtechman Aren't they cool? At my old home I had several huge hydrangeas. They worked will as dried flower arrangements.
In a very different climate now, and struggling to keep one sad little plant alive.
