@StaceyCornelius Let's all pretend everything is back to normal for one day. As a prank. A cruel one, at that.

@StaceyCornelius I hate pranks at any time of year, but yes, I agree: You want to prank people in THIS world?!

@StaceyCornelius … or if we could at least agree on not electing April Fools jokes as state leaders, you know, that'd be something

@StaceyCornelius I already had to verify the news yesterday to see whether they've pulled April Fool's early. But: no, it was an official announcement by the US government.

@StaceyCornelius If the Horrors are what it takes to finally convince people to stop being assholes and posting fake news on April 1st, it still will not have been worth it but I won't be complaining.

@StaceyCornelius Josh Johnson and the guy who hosts the daily show podcast chatted about that and about how April Fools is just fraught now. TBH I tend to think of April fools as being quite nasty, mean spirited. But my fave pranks: an Aussie radio show asked ppl to cut a bit of their lawn & leave it out the front for collection to take to the Antarctic to create a footy field; Princess Di’s very public super weird birthing event so weird that I thought WTF until I remembered it was April Fools

@StaceyCornelius The orange shitbag will kick the bucket on April One sending waves of IS THIS TRUE OR NOT crashing around like a tsunami in a fjord.

@StaceyCornelius I’ve ignored April Fools Day since 2016 when we were hit with the worst April Fools joke in recent history.

@StaceyCornelius The line is so blurred between satire and reality, that it would’ve too easy to believe something.

@DarkMatterZine The one prank I really enjoy has been going on for years, on the CBC Radio show As It Happens.
They always have one fake story on April 1. Their writers are fantastic, so it's extra fun trying to figure out which one is the prank story.
One year it was the announcement of a $3 coin. Some listeners fell for it. There were irate emails.
I dislike mean-spirited pranks, but the patchwork footy field is pretty fun.

@StaceyCornelius My blog has a very tame, traditional prank that I do every year. Not going to stop now because of some old men's whims, not even indirectly.
