    @skinnylatte I mean it seems awful, but only for people who want to go to the United States, so not that many people.

      @rupert well, this impacts the family members of the millions of people already there, for one.

      i think the nobody wants to go to america at all sentiment is not reflected in real life (i am still talking to several people from asia / europe monthly about how they can move to san francisco). doesn't mean i agree that they should, but this 'nobody wants to come anymore!' narrative isn't accurate

        @rupert @skinnylatte

        Well that, but also US citizens returning home from abroad kinda care.

        *IF* this Constitutional violation goes into effect, I wonder if 'processing' can be handled by State authorities? Take the job away from TSA if they don't want to do it.

          @skinnylatte So they're going to prevent all international arrivals to Los Angeles and New York (and Seattle and Minneapolis and Chicago and and and)? Sure. That won't cause any chaos, none at all. They can just route all the flights to Dallas and Houston, right? No biggie. It's Texas, they're big, they can handle it, right?

          What a bunch of effing buffoons.

            @ralfmaximus @rupert @skinnylatte

            Not just TSA - cargo still goes through customs, aka the C in CBP.

                @skinnylatte

                Wonder if anyone's asked about cargo processing. Port of LA & Long Beach is busiest on the West Coast. Plus there are airports that don't do commercial passenger travel but DO cargo.

                  Well, having just spent a lot of money talking to an immigration lawyer, I can confidently say I still don't want to travel to the USA, but that doesn't mean I won't be doing it. Other factors are in play, as they are for everyone.

                    @skinnylatte Heh. I'm sure the World Cup won't be disrupted at all by this. Nope, not a bit.
