I long to just throw the thing at a bike shop and have it come back all shiny and clicky-rattle-free.

@tlohde Well, you can do it. You just choose not to do it. I still give my bike for overall maintenance once in a while. It is just a question how much do you need and want your money to stay yours.

@owiecc finances are tight. But mostly, it's the guilt of paying for a thing that I feel I should do myself.

@tlohde I still *know* how but I'm no longer doing it because physical limitations. Not ashamed of going to the professionals.
