      @65dBnoise are we sure it's not supercam showing weird artifacts? I know it's not your processing, because it's in the original. There's more subtle ones, but the one circled here doesn't look "natural"

      [EDIT]: Ok, I now saw another view and your feature is still there, would be weird to get the same artifact there too, intriguing! https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/multimedia/raw-images/LRF_1798_0826554356_264EBY_N0870000SCAM02798_0100I6J

        No, the one I focus on is real. That's what the pseudo 3D above shows, two different images of the same feature.

        Hopefully this feature along with the black spots inside the abrasion will be a good reason for the #Perseverance team to write a new post.

        Here's a new view of those black spots:

            @65dBnoise that is quite interesting. do you remember seeing anything similar from these before?

              @tsrono
              IIRC, we've seen some vaguely similar to those stripes features ("similar" as judged by my brain's pattern recognition neural system, which is of course biased toward earthly patterns) but they were of a much larger size.

              Dark spots like those… I don't recall seeing before. Maybe @sharponlooker or @PaulHammond51 recall seeing something similar?

                @65dBnoise if similar ones were seen at varying sizes that might be something of a clue for what could've caused them of course.

                looking at it now, someone else in your comments mentioned the rectangle on the center left there - also i'm thinking that might be the same thing at the top right? could be mistaken of course but does hint at the 'stripe' pattern there.

                  I meant not at this location, but elsewhere. But without a clue about their composition, I don't trust my IANAG judgement of their similarity to be of any value.
