        @VE7WYC I am quite sure they never anticipated the blowback. What is amazing to me is that even though their liquor industry has essentially been shut out of the country for the past 12 months, there has been absolutely no effort by the US Administration to fix that *for their own industry*. And yet... people in that industry and in general in the USA are like.. "we support the policy of our president".

        It's really incredible. Meanwhile, it has really not hurt Canada as much as I think anyone would have thought. The impetus to diversify and to open our own internal borders has been very healthy.

          @VE7WYC perhaps the upcoming FIFA madness will be a wake up call if tourism expectations are much much less than hoped/anticipated.

          It's hard to know how many shoes need to drop before America notices the harm their President is doing to them!

            @ai6yr @VE7WYC I have no doubt that is the case. But the fact remains, if there was a big pushback to alcohol beverages being shut out of Canada and suffering as a result, we'd hear about it. A year on... it seems neither the US Admin, nor Congress, really care enough to put up a fuss.

              @VE7WYC I was in a 7-11 and there was a FIFA stuff-stand... it didn't have prices on the trinkets and souvenirs... I passed. lol.
