"Because you know you will survive"

most of those cosplaying revolutionary will not survive a real revolution

furthermore, revolutions are not bastions of ideological purity. whoever wins could be worse. even if by some miracle something better does win, the new regime will still deal with impotent purists whining "but i want perfect, waah"

toxic idealists who bizarrely defer to revolution are excuse making for their own uselessness

They also seem to think it'll be just a jaunty weekend of bloodshed and then we all just roll over to whoever is on top after that. No, an actual revolution will take a decade of unspeakable horrors unfolding in their time. The rest of your life will be terrible. Your children's lives might be normal eventually. Only the grandchildren stand any chance of living better once that line is crossed.

      @skotchygut @farbel @retech @DonChacale @spreadthetruth

revolution cosplayers suffer from main character syndrome and think it will be like a movie

and they believe, hilariously, that the factions will be ideologically rigorous

none of this excuses our current suffering

it means they should be *effective* about fixing it rather than retreating into a cringe fantasy life (hint: VOTE)

and revolution happens when people are hungry. there is hunger in the usa but we're far from general famine

unfortunately, retreating into a cringe fantasy life is, if not the American dream, then at least the American past time.

@benroyce @horqua @roknrol @mikelovesbikes @retech My state isn’t quite as red as Wyoming, but I seriously considered registering Republican in 2024 long enough to try to vote for the least worst. In the end, I decided it was more to my advantage to select Dems in local gov races (county, city). But that’s the thing I’d encourage everyone to do… look at the ballot and be strategic and make a choice. Don’t be passive.

in states where you can vote in primaries outside your party, i encourage such sabotage and vandalism. but this is a sideshow. the main game should be declare your party and contribute

@horqua @benroyce @roknrol @mikelovesbikes @retech In Iowa, you can literally change party the day of the primary, then mail your post card to chargeback the same night.

Regarding that letter, seems like their main point against switching for primary is you can’t switch until after the general, but so what? You can still vote for whomever you want on the ballot, right? I get how that may muck things up a bit for canvassing, soliciting donations, GOTV. Is that the real reason?

@benroyce @horqua @roknrol @mikelovesbikes @retech TBF, I’ve never voted in a cross primary, it’s never seemed like the best chance, but if polling was close and I could oust Grassley with someone less despicable, I’d probably do it.

"Russia’s economy minister admits ‘reserves have largely been used up’ while communist lawmaker warns of 1917-style revolution as #GDP shrinks"

Endless gloom and #doom stories about #Russia's #economy means you can forgive people for being jaded on the topic

They are correct that people saying #collapse is imminent are wrong

                      But

It's also wrong to conclude that Russia won't collapse

                      The truth:

                      It won't be tomorrow

But it also won't be never

                      Russia is in deep shit

Yet we almost didn't get into WWII because of folks like Lindbergh. That would have been a bad mistake.

The best way to know what is going on is to be where decisions are made & if they're wrong try to change them.

@A_Minion @Clutha @retech @benroyce @DonChacale @spreadthetruth It appears that you are either unfamiliar with the definition of communism, or with the governments of the countries you named. Or maybe you were joking?

i think A Minion is being sarcastic. speaking in MAGA terms to mock them

A Minion: you have to indicate sarcasm online. always

                                  use "(/s)" after sarcastic sentences

the problem with sarcasm online is that without an indicator no one knows if you're being a serious or not

sometimes it can blow up in your face

That went away with critical thinking. Well unless it's talking about all the communist countries, Sweden, Norway, Finland & the commie left./S

This 500 word limit is killing me. . . I fixed it with the magic /s The ones I mentioned are capitalist. Actually capitalism can work but you gotta Wrap it in Duct Tape & keep it Gagged. Which was the basis for the economy we had in the time between WWII and the 70's. That & a congress that was working for the people along with "the Liberal Consensus" but all that is long gone. Need that economy back. It needed work but . . . .
