Deaths in BC are similar to those on the coasts of Washington state (where 15 whales have been found dead in the last couple weeks), Oregon and California.

Two of the four dead whales, which were found around Barkley Sound, near Kyuquot and near Sidney, were extremely emaciated, according to an official with the Fisheries Department.
