Discord isn't close to being aligned with my principles, so on one hand this is expected/whatever.

On the other, I've sort of accepted that Discord servers are to be treated as open public spaces and nothing you say is really private (this true whether you're on matrix or discord). And a lot of servers on there do provide a community for people, and unlike a lot of other services Discord is pretty top tier imho.
