    ESLs allow retailers to change the price of a given item remotely, opening up the possibility that they could be tied to algorithms which raise and lower prices based on conditions in the store or who’s trying to buy something.”

        @AnnaAnthro @corbden we remember seeing some guy defending these because he thought grocery store companies would benevolently lower prices on cold water if there was a heat wave on

          @AnnaAnthro i saw these go up at my local walmart recently, thought they were just for convenience, i had no clue theres data tracking and algorithms involved...so bleak lol
