🧵 1/3 Mount Stewart on the Newtownards Peninsula yesterday. It was showery, windy and sometimes chilly, so not too many insects around.

🧵 1/3 Mount Stewart on the Newtownards Peninsula yesterday. It was showery, windy and sometimes chilly, so not too many insects around.



🧵 2/3 one of the many azalea/rhododendron types flowering at Mount Stewart at the moment. A fly, beautifully lit on a sunny beech leaf. A rather irritated male mallard duck, as he reluctantly went into the water when we walked by. A heron courting danger, as he’s quite near where the swans have a nest.
