I kiss my scars and bruises
let them fade gently
into the starry sky

this is the lonely
unglamorous part
of healing
done in the dark and quiet

I don’t need them
as souvenirs
of my resilience anymore
I have seen both sides
of the moon
and now I am free
to dance with the shadows
into the light
