    @heidilifeldman
    When we warned people MS's products violating privacy, no one cares.
    And now they know the consequence.

      @heidilifeldman

      Using Linux as we speak.

      … a period in which the agency’s budget swelled and its workforce rapidly expanded

      They’re not even a workforce; they’re just a goon squad. Unfortunately, it’s a genie that’s not going back in the bottle because I don’t think Trump is ever going to recall them. I think they’re on our streets indefinitely because with that kind of budget, they’re not just going to disband it or stick them back on actual border patrol. Now we have to worry about local cops and ICE. I hate this timeline

          @heidilifeldman@mastodon.social It's no surprise that the same companies aiding the genocide in Palestine are aiding ICE

          As far as they're concerned, it's all free money, straight from the government's tap.

                  @heidilifeldman Thanks for the advice! I removed Windows from my computer one month ago, now I run on Linux only. And I also got rid of my Hotmail mail address. So, no more Microsoft for me at all.

                        @heidilifeldman

                        Don't use ANYTHING from the US tech broligarchs. Don't give them a single cent of your money nor your data to make money FROM you while destroying what is left of your freedom and democracy. And what's more, they are collaborating with Russian propagandists and far-right agitators to destroy OUR freedom and democracy in the EU, which has always been their hate object because it does not give them the carte blanche they have in the US oligarchy where they can just buy large parts of Congress to prevent any legislation that would rein them in.

                        I've been using Linux on my private computers for over 25 years now.

                        On my Fairphone, I have /e/OS, an Android replacing all the data spy libraries from google with those from microG. It may not be perfect, but it blocks most of the trackers in apps and all of the spying from google. Also has some other perks like selective GPS spoofing etc.

                        In my company, I have to use a fucking Dell laptop with even more fucking win11. All our services are built on M$. BUT, finally, there is a reckoning. Customers don't want the US clouds anymore. And services in the EU, under EU data protection laws, and under complete control NOT from any of those oligarchs finally come into consideration.

                        Americans need to do their jobs, too. Don't let them continue like before!
