The QR code is usually a lazy way to direct you to the menu on the website. In some cases you can actually place an order via this website.

Unless you provide extra information or worse install a new app and allow it to access everything, the restaurant will not know your name or phone number.

This is all too brilliant! I guess you can eat at a restaurant, take a photo of the QR code, then periodically order food to that same table while you're somewhere else far away.

Kinda reminds me of the #Barcode to unlock the gates at the #SelfServiceCheckout at #REWE...

- I did test it (obviously I did pay for what I bought!) and it just worked.

Because QR Code is going to insist on much more than a handful of dots for the first, and a sizable proportion of all of them for the second. Just look at the pattern differences between adjacent tables

QR code should not be the primary way to access something.

Your menu should be a physical menu and the QR Code should help people access the digital version, not to force your digital version to the users.

If you have a printed poster with an URL, please put a small QR code next to it. Not to replace the URL, to complete it.
