    Despite the inclement weather I had to take my new camera, an OM-5, on a test run. No real clue where all the settings are, so most of these 8 snaps could have been improved upon, particularly given the very low light, but I'm so happy with its performance πŸ’™

    First 4. I'll start with a mystery image. I bet someone here will know what it is

        @Greenseer Hmm. You don’t often see blue Lias that’s actually that blue.
        Equally, you don’t often see weathered azurite or fluorite forming some widespread thin beds.

            @Greenseer

            The first image looks like a close-up photograph of layered sedimentary rock, possibly something like sandstone or limestone strata πŸ€”

            More puzzles, please?

              @TCMuffin I think no one is likely to give the correct answer to this one so I will reveal it

              The source of the Llangollen Canal draws water at the Horseshoe Falls. This shot is of the water surface where it collects to enter the feeding station and what you see here is the river 'foam', in bands reflecting recent weather patterns, presumably consisting of a mix of organics and fertiliser effluent πŸ™‚

              If I see more interesting puzzles I'll share them. Have a lovely day, Jayne πŸ’•

                Thank you...you too ❀️

                Could I have 1/2 a point if I said it was sedimentary rock in a very, very, very early stage of its formation??? πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚

                  @TCMuffin That did occur to me without you asking. I mean, it is minerals and they are sedimented. So yes..half a point to you πŸ’•
