I love that you all like this so much. A bit more on what I did: the top bar I lined the crochet with a piece of old bed sheet to stop the crumbles leaking through. The ear pads I picked off all the flakes then just popped the covers over. Top bar crochet is an uneven rectangle, slight decrease for the underside of the bar, joined the sides up on top with a slip stitch type join. The ears are crochet in the round starting with 6 stitches and increasing until the size of the pads, plus a couple of slip stitches here and there to attempt an oval, then 2 rows for the edge before decreasing for a couple of rows for the back. I fitted the covers over then used a running stitch to draw them in on the outer side. Can confirm the sound quality is AOK.

@trinsec yeah, plastic faux leather is never going to be as nice. Admittedly this is just some likely plastic "wool" out of the stash, but yes to air flow!
