I admit it: I do not have the first clue how plants work.

I admit it: I do not have the first clue how plants work. So I was pretty amazed how easy it is to create hop scions. My father-in-law just cut a bunch of vines off at the right spot, we put them in bottles with water, placed them in the abandoned henhouse for just enough sunlight and now we wait for them to get new roots. Super easy.
Also yay for more Cascade- and Hüll-Melon-hopped pale beers in the future 🥳

Now I have to get some wire cages and in about two weeks time we'll hopefully plant them.

Plants are basically magic that runs on water and sunlight. What are you planning to brew with the hops?

@alicefrieren Usually I am more into the "Tap the right runes and your kettle brews for you" kind of magic but this plant stuff is actually pretty cool
My trip to Czechia last year inspired me to make a German Pils with these fruitier hops. That's the first thing I'll make after the harvest. Also this year's batch of Belgian Blond with Hüll Melon hops has been ridiculously good and people were very fond of it, so I see a lot more of that in the future.

The second secret ingredient here is an experienced gardener to show you. (Some plants do this any time of year, others in a season or at the correct node; magic with study?).
Basil is another enthusiastic windowsill rooter - propagate a sprig in spring and you can have a big basil plant by summer

@scandigonian Yes. My first Hüll Melon plant was destroyed by a bunch of mice. They ate the roots
