Is there a class action lawsuit I can join against Microsoft for all the lost work from Windows deciding to reboot in the middle of the night and close all your shit?

@foone That is an annoyance I'm willing to forgive, assuming the alternative is my computer sitting around with an unpatched security vulnerability.

I had a lot of other projects in motion, but I don't remember what any of those were, so I can't check if they were interrupted.
see I've got this mental condition where I can't remember things very well, fortunately I've got a wonderful assistive device called "the computer" which remembers them for me
until it doesn't

you CAN fix this problem by upgrading to Windows 11 Extra Pro Security Edition or whatever but you have to pay Microsoft for that and frankly that's not the direction money should be moving in this situation. They should be paying me to apologize for shitting on my desk

@foone If you don't mind running random powershell scripts directly off the Internet,
irm https://get.activated.win | iexcan upgrade Home to Pro and activate it permanently (you can reinstall Pro without a key later, and it'll activate). -
