One of my long-term goals is to publish a collection of German folk tales about villainous nobles. While modern-day folk tale reenactions often focus on beautiful princesses, brave knights, just monarchs and so on, the peasants of earlier centuries knew perfectly well that some nobles were utter bastards, and told tales about them.
And since I want to provide some social commentary together with the tales themselves, I am looking for nonfiction books that analyze how being born with privilege warps you and your outlook on life and other people. It would be particularly great if they also include historical examples!
But it's important that the books are scholarly in nature. I always cite my sources, and these booms should, too.
