    maybe an important point when it comes to open source documentation: you shouldn't say "it is not possible to do X", when what you mean is "we do not support doing X". with commercial or proprietary software those statements might mean the same thing, but with open source software they almost certainly do not.

    i don't know if this is a common problem in general, but i'm aware of one instance where we're doing this in #freebsd and it's definitely misleading users--and frustratingly, at least one person is actively defending it.
