Pierre Poilievre has thoughts on the expansion of Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto:
“‘This is great for the economy, for the environment and for convenience,’ Poilievre said. ‘This is the business district of our biggest city, why would we not want business travellers to arrive in our business district?’”
When Liberal voters in Toronto are the ones who will face the noise and loss of territory caused by the downtown airport expansion PP’s all for it.
When Conservative voters in Eastern Ontario are the ones who will face the noise and loss of territory caused by the construction of a high speed rail line then it’s a boondoggle and waste of money, in spite of it being great for the economy, the environment and for convenience.

@Sanderde Hating on Toronto is so very tired.
Only an idiot would think having jets downtown is good for the environment. But that’s PP.

It’s all the taxis no longer driving from Pearson that he probably thinks is good for the environment (don’t tell the oil companies) but most travellers probably use the UP Express because it avoids the congestion.

All those taxis vs. hundreds more jet flights. Hmm.
If they really wanted to make flying in & out of Toronto better they'd double the number of UP Express trains. Much nicer and cheaper than adding a kilometer of runway to the lake.
