@WTL @catsalad BSD in general has not received as much 'buzz' as linux however as linux itself has become a tad more ... commercial we have been seeing a resurgence of interest esp. from hard core linux users. NetBSD runs very well on just about anything including older hardware.

The sad truth is that I've seen most people just hand over IDs when asked without thinking giving those kind of ideas credibility

I was more thinking about chips degrading relatively fast because of nanometer semiconductor scale and massive complexity, but that's probably a factor as well
