I think it's so precious when techbros try #mansplaining Web browsers, video transcoding or game development to me.

My dudes, it's likely I've been programming longer than you've been alive.

And transitioning didn't somehow make me ignorant, motherfuckers.

@lisamelton It is likely I'd love to learn some tricks from you - even when I grew up with 'what is a protected mode?'

@lisamelton Reminds me of when a dude told Katie Mack she should learn some science and she replied, “I already have a PhD in astrophysics. I think anything more would be overkill at this point.”

I think he ended up deleting his account. 🙂

Or when the guy told Margaret Atwood what the author of The Handmaid’s Tale really meant. 🙂

@lisamelton recently saw a yt video where a gamedev explained why their RTS solo project looks so advanced, and they went through a bunch of techniques, describing them like they were original discoveries.

it felt odd and condescending until i noticed the needless contrastive statements in there and realized they had the bot write this.

so... you can't hear the em dashes but listen for the formulaic phrasings...

just realized, if it sounds this way it's because it was new to *them*

@lisamelton I wrote one web browser in 1990s. I hope, that statement, that I did it wrong, doesn't count as mansplaining!

@lisamelton I feel like mansplaining web browsers to you would be like mansplaining general relativity to fucking Einstein. Pardon my language, but COME ON! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

@digichelle @lisamelton One should also not forget how important the influence of Mileva possibly has been on Einsteins theoretical development.

@lisamelton and most of them only got their degree by copying others work. They are business scum, not scientist.

@jzsimon I can't tell whether or not you're excusing the behavior. Either way, toxic behavior shouldn't be excused.
