@alice @FilthyShrooms @eurekasven7 wow, one of my friends just told me that whenever it rains their mailperson wears a USPS mail cape which apparently is an official uniform option!

@dan $137 for a cape??
@alice @dan I'm not sure which is more surprising: that US postal carriers have to buy their own uniforms, that the prices are that ridiculous, or that anyone willing to spend that much money can buy an official USPS cape!
(But really, why am I surprised. The answer to all these things is capitalism. Gotta run that postal service like a for-profit business!)

@alice @dan @FilthyShrooms @eurekasven7 Have you seen the price of bedding these days?!

Hey @eurekasven7, thanks for the follow request! Unfortunately there's not enough vibe on your profile to check, so...
If you could bring back one fashion trend of a bygone time, and make it popular again (and well into the future), what would it be?
I'd bring back the 80s punk trend of wearing dramatically mismatched clothing—especially textures, colors, and patterns. I already kinda do this with cargo jeans and fluffy pink sweaters, or sparkly heart earrings and steel spiked cuffs.
@alice PONCHOS. They're not back yet but I am WORKING ON IT

@dan @alice @FilthyShrooms @eurekasven7@mastodon.social No idea if it was official, but I saw a mail carrier in a trenchcoat in the USPS style and it was *amazing*

@mayintoronto
No, I haven't. My most expensive hammock was like US$80. -

@cargot_robbie @alice @eurekasven7
Is that a real poncho, or a Sears poncho?

@alice @eurekasven7 I'd bring back platform heels for everyone from the early 70s

@cargot_robbie I've only ever improvised them from blankets. The previous quote is from a Frank Zappa bit.

Tie on pockets. Finally enough space for stuff, no need for bags, while allowing clothing folds to still fall as intended.
I've already switched to wide pants. Now these, please.
