Would someone from Austria be so kind to tell me how they would pronounce the lastname of Austrian psychoanalyst Otto Fenichel?

I have two sources putting emphasis on the first syllable, FENichel, so it flows kind of like the English word carousel. But another source puts emphasis on the second syllable, as in fenICHel.
Also, can you confirm that the "chel" is leading with a German ch sound like the one in the German word "ich" and NOT an English sh sound as in the English word "shelled"?
