    @JessTheUnstill "dignity of toil"... would you please expound on this point of philosophy? As in, break it down?

      @JessTheUnstill there's some deep philosophy here to be sure. Spirituality? No.

        @JessTheUnstill Thinks for the link, but alas, it didn't explain the dignity of toil.

            @JessTheUnstill @d1

            since i've just been browsing related shit: just read the "REFLEXION" part here (which is from 1692).

            "The very Soul of the Slothful, does Effectually but lie Drowzing in his Body, and the Whole Man is Totally given up to his Senses: Whereas the Profit and the Comfort of Industry, Is Substantial, Firm, and Lasting"

              If AI was actually living up to the hype promises, so be it. I'll find something better to do with my life than writing for loops and implementing APIs and writing test cases and shit.

              Just redistribute the wealth and let bots go and improve synergy and unlock hidden value with innovation and improve total shareholder returns and whatever else when the program manager can vomit vibes and do it themselves.

                @JessTheUnstill it's not toil that's dignified, but competence and agency.

                  @JessTheUnstill it would be strangely funny to see my boss's boss's boss just writing AI prompts to pump out worthless work to the company lol...

                    @CordiallyChloe I always laugh when I would different questions for reports or any given month, I write that report as requested, then they complain the report isn't the same as last months, when they asked a different question.

                      @JessTheUnstill Just remember this:

                      "In a landmark study, OpenAI researchers reveal that large language models will always produce plausible but false outputs, even with perfect data, due to fundamental statistical and computational limits." - Computerworld.

                        @pa28 The question being: are they worse than human developers who also write plenty of bugs in plausible sorts of ways.
