I continue to find it silly where phones are being "rented out" with a "buy to own it" at the end of your contract option.

I guess it makes sticker shock lower and takes away the "hassle" of finding a buyer for an old phone.

I just, never get rid of my old devices. They get repurposed for some other use case unless they literally stop working.
