        @MostlyHarmless no, no, it's evidence of how terribly weak young people are today! in my day we suffered slow agonising death every day and twice on sundays, and we did it with a smile on our face and a happy song on our lips!

              β€œBy Ryan Boyd. It's sure weird how depression and anxiety are huge problems for young people in a society where everything costs more every year and every single human act gets monetized, on a planet that is boiling alive, must be a coincidence.”

                @millihertz @MostlyHarmless When I was kid all we had to worry about was littering, smog, and global thermonuclear war. We turned out fine! Fine I tell you! Happy as fucking clams! Fried clams! Now I'm hungry.

                  @davetortoise @MostlyHarmless Or it must be because of social media.

                    @davetortoise @MostlyHarmless

                    You can't be anxious or depressed if you die of a preventable disease before you are old enough to understand what is happening around you.

                        @millihertz @MostlyHarmless You were lucky, we even had to think in turn, as we couldn't afford a brain each, as we'd had to sell two off for my grandfather's funeral. (When I say funeral, I mean spade and bucket - we never did find the rest of his body after the unfortunate incident with the whale.)

                            @MostlyHarmless Used to be depressed when I was 17. It's a long story of humiliation and betrayal. I'm 23 now and idk. I'm like 6 light-years beyond it. Whatever depression was, it feels nothing.

                            4 years passed before I came back to social media. I haven't had friends for 6 years. Also discovered my parents don't care if I live or die a year ago haha

                            I honestly don't know why I'm still kicking and just having fun. We're not really rich, but yeah. I feel like I'm getting more dumber though.
