#HolosDiscover is up to shenanigans again. Rather than making their scraper / indexer truly opt-in, they're again using @HolosDiscover@discover.holos.social to follow accounts that don't have search engine indexing turned off and don't have #NoBot and #NoIndex in their profiles.
I recommend blocking @HolosDiscover@discover.holos.social at minimum.
As a sidebar, I would support the existence of an actual opt-in index for reasons I have discussed previously. This is not that.

@EveHasWords@toot.cat That user followed me but I don't understand it well enough to say whether the indexing is "opt-in." Does the fact that it's following me mean it is indexing my posts? What does "indexable=true" mean?

@2something It's my understanding that the bot following you means it's indexing your posts.
Since you're on Sharkey, "indexable=true" means that your "Reject crawler indexing" option isn't turned on. I included the screenshot from one of my Sharkey accounts demonstrating the toggle you'd need to turn on for #HolosDiscover to recognize your Opt-Out.
The screenshot shows the option in its default position.

@EveHasWords@toot.cat Thanks. "Reject Crawler Indexing" is toggled off for me: I don't remember whether I did that intentionally or whether it was the default setting.

@EveHasWords@toot.cat I just changed the toggle: let's see if the indexer notices.

@EveHasWords Suspend holos.social. That way if they put their scraper on other subdomains, they'll be blocked automatically too.
