    @max_bank @rebalance_now Is she getting paid by Google? Are her documents being held hostage on Google Drive? Is her access to Gmail being blocked? What kind of mobster practices did the big G sink to to get her to do this?

      @RandamuMaki@mstdn.social @max_bank@eupolicy.social @rebalance_now@bewegung.social

      Related: Why did the EU not try to force social media giants to be better and instead jump on the age verification train?

      It's either idiocy or corruption, and in neither case are our officials fit to lead

        Ursula von der Leyen has halted a previously planned multibillion-euro fine against Google at the last minute. This is reported by both the Handelsblatt and Capitol Forum. In an open letter released today, more than 30 organizations including @rebalance_now are calling on the Commission President to impose the fine promptly and thus effectively enforce the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

        @max_bank @rebalance_now

        She’s a Conservative acting true to form. Their corruption equals their incompetence and is only topped by their vitriol towards the working class. They are despicable.
        (Times this at will for Reform and the rest of the protofascist national parties’ politician pretenders)

          @max_bank @rebalance_now And we call Trump a TACO. The EU is worse. And Von der Leyen must go, she is not trustworthy, unreliable, chicken and far too rightwinged.

            @max_bank@eupolicy.social @rebalance_now@bewegung.social Ever since she met with Trump US surveillance tech companies have been greatly empowered. After passing the Digital Omnibus, pushing for age verification, and now halting the Google fine, long standing wishes of American Big Tech lobbying are granted one after another, at the expense of digital rights and European autonomy. Can we at this point agree that von der Leyen is an outright MAGA collaborator?

                Il est temps d'arrêter Ursula Von der Leyen, qui fait ce qu'elle veut quand elle veut. Elle outrepasse ses droits et ses devoirs. Ce n'est pas la première fois. C'est inacceptable !
                Démission !

                  This is not acceptable - the EU must stand firm and fine in accordance with EU law. The only thing the bullies on the other side of the Atlantic understands, is consequence.

                  Please tell Von der Leyen that her suspension of the Google/Alphabet fine is not acceptable!
