@drewseph@ohai.social @alice@lgbtqia.space Basically the troll constantly peppers the victim with seemingly sincere requests for further discussion, further evidence, further reasoning without any desire to actually engage in a good-faith conversation. They're just trying to pester and annoy the victim to the point of frustration. If at any point the victim seeks to leave the cycle of debate the troll will declare victory, they they are actually the genuine "thinker" and that the victim was the troll or fool or wrong.

@alice Not that it’s happened to me, but marking NSFW content as NSFW is also a big one. Thankfully, defederating from servers that DON’T enforce this rule is a lifesaver, but it’s good practice nonetheless!

I have a warm space in my thread for bots like @possumeveryhour or @toomanyfoxes . They are explicitly and obviously bots, and they do a specific thing reliably.
Bots that pretend to not be bots are awful and should be banned.

Mutual aid requesters from Gaza: get verified by https://gaza-verified.org/ and put it in your profile. I at least assume if you haven't done that then you're probably a scammer, and if you have then you are much less likely to be a scammer. Sorry to put a centralized roadblock in place, but there are way too many scammers pretending to be in Gaza.

Posting other people's nudes without their consent does feel like Capitalist assholery to me. But maybe I’m weird.

@xenophora@mastodon.art @alice@lgbtqia.space But in a capitalist world even sexworkers have to take advantage of the system and protect what they use to earn money. Most of the time people's photos get reposted without consent because people try to gain an advantage for themselves, like scam others or sell that. For all other cases I think its more adequate to explain that by morale, that its wrong to repost them and people need to evolve on a personal level to understand that.
In a socialist world there wouldn't be much of a reason for people to copy them without asking for permission. -
This rant brought to you by the spam accounts and bigoted trolls I suspended his morning, and the reply guys and death threats I've received since posting it.
