@JessTheUnstill I just got an email from HR that was definitely written by AI and it made my whole body tense up. It upsets me SO much and there's nothing I can do.

@JessTheUnstill I mean... That has been true since some hotshots started realizing they could use looms to weave math.

Grace Hopper finding a moth in a relay computer was such a landmark because it meant the big expensive thing was screwing up NOT because of a human that was sure they finally got it right.

@JessTheUnstill On that note, I guess what bothers me most about AI is the *way* people use it. Why did this email have to be so blatantly AI-generated? Why didn't someone edit it to make it more human?

It's like people are having AI do their jobs AND are hoisting off the responsibility of it.

"Your work was so good!" "Thanks!"
"Your work was incoherent." "Oh, I grabbed it from AI."

Like, no, both are your responsibility, and your fault.

Do your jobs. Don't rely on AI to do it for you.
