    @nini@oldbytes.space @vowe@social.heise.de Now I'm suddenly really hoping the fact that my kid's school "shadowbanned" MS Teams doesn't result in him trying to find illicit ways to continue to use Teams.

      @nini@oldbytes.space @vowe@social.heise.de Maybe I shouldn't have kept suggesting they use Signal or something.

          @vowe

          Just watched a whole skit in my head of a kid drawing a mustache on to go online, then mistakenly getting caught in a swarm of biznessmen on their way out of a martini bar from lunch, and he ends-up working as a vp with them forever.
          Forever.
          For. Ever.

            @vowe If kids are able to unlock their parents phones with their faces, why wouldn't drawn on mustaches and wrinkles work for "general" age verification?

                @mynameistillian @vowe It's very serious.

                It's also stupid.

                    Oh, the nice smelling ones?

                    EDIT: Ah, the graffiti jumbo markers! Yeah, but you only need to be 16 to buy them.

                      @vowe I knew someone who had a beard at 15, never got asked for ID when buying alcohol.

                      @gkrnours @vowe A guy I knew in high school had such a beard (and unfortunately early onset hair loss) that he would occasionally wear a suit and tie and be mistaken for a substitute teacher. He was a great source of information.

                        @vowe@social.heise.de This is probably the first time in history that young people have rapidly found a way to bypass measures put in place by adults to restrict what they can do and shared it amongst their peers.

                        @driusan @vowe I don't think so. Getting around restrictions put in place by adults has a long and storied history. Turning the high school VMB into a diverter for summer break. Messing with security cameras in hallways to create blind spots. Pages kept in filling cabinets going missing.

                          @vowe imagine being a kid back in the day, vandalising posters with mustaches and when you turn to an adult you force children to do it to themselves
                          Now that is an evil villain alright

                          @TagHunt @vowe a villain with an old style moustache, who also sells moustache wax (so stands to benefit from any rise in folk being inspired to have actual facial hair)
