@catsalad there's no Avatar movies. Just watch Ferngully again. And then Korra.

@ThaMunsta @grumpasaurus @catsalad Came here to say the same.

                    - White man arrives on the shores and starts fights
                    - Ravages the land, steals the natural resources to bring back home
                    - Steals one or more of the people who originally lived there
                    - Brings war, death, and destruction to foreign land

Avatar is a modern retelling of the Pocahontas story.

@ThaMunsta @grumpasaurus @catsalad I went and watched the trailer for Fern Gully. Now I don't know which is a better description of Avatar -- Fern Gully or Pocahontas.

@catsalad I watched the original, thus avoiding watching any sequels. 💁🏻‍♂️

@catsalad I call the films "Dances with Smurfs", and that should tell you everything you need to know.

@catsalad or if you’ve read Ursula K. Le Guin‘s The Word for World is Forest (1972). Fern gully and especially Avatar pretty much ripped her off.
