The Ayatollah chose to be a martyr for the state of Iran. Khamenei was elderly and in poor health. He had stated in an address he was a humble man who feared growing frail and incapable of being the leader Iran needed.
Khamenei was the Ayatollah who declared a fatwa against Iran having nuclear weapons, ironically his replacement does not share that sentiment.

I think it would be safe to say Israel did most of the intel work.Our CIA is a limp dick chasing immigrants and covering for pedophiles.
