    I like to watch old historical stuff with people who are long gone. Just to remind myself I'm just a "blip" on the timeline of history and nothing I do or say, or don't do or say will ever really matter that much.

      That can be a calming perspective.

      I remember when I was doing product development research on toilet paper, and feeling that what I was doing wasn't really all that important. Not like doing research on cancer.

      And then I realized that, if I had a bad day, it's no big deal. It's not like people are dying. Imagine the stress of people who are doing critical medical research.

        Definitely would be difficult to be in a profession where lives hang in the balance. Like an immigration lawyer too.
