@AndyIncarnate from what i've seen it's been piecemeal so far, but i'm like you & seen a few updates just not looked deep into things.
i do know it's being implemented, in part at least, by *some* gear/software so far - but until it's in everything it's kinda some imagined future (hence the lame meme)

#controlvoltage@elytres all the communications have their pros & cons - CV for me is still very esoteric, having barely used a few instruments that implement it. i know it's obviously very powerful for many though, clearly!

@tsrono I totally get the interest for MIDI, as I used it for years!
I'm just way happier with CV modulations for my music and my way of thinking and doing it

I'm just way happier with CV modulations for my music and my way of thinking and doing it@elytres the way it causes us to think differently is a very interesting thing - reading others who use Max/PD/etc. for things exclusively that don't use MIDI or CV, they find different ways around the communication which is obviously connected to that particular realm. & i guess those different ways of thinking & different ways of interacting all lead to unique choices for the music (or at least they likely often do!) - the instruments are always part of the result...
