@ombialik what hashtags are you following? I find more cool people to follow through the tags they use. Remember here you are the algorithm so follow tags that reflect your interests. Over time you can easily weed out any annoying people who use said tags through blocking.

@ombialik You seem to be following lots of people. I follow enough people to scroll my feed for maybe an hour before it feels stale and share stuff I've found interesting from my RSS feed along with dig pictures.
What are you hoping for from the platform?

You need to subscribe to hashtags. The fediverse as I understand it has never been about individual followers or influencers. It's about topics and conversations. Those happen across hashtags. By subscribing to hashtags, your feed is full of the topics you love. You don't have to follow people to see what's happening in any field.
PS - the converse of this is always put hastags at the end of your posts. (Not in the middle, which messes up screen readers.)
