    @castrillo There was a fantastic podcast about the rise and fall of #Vine that I listened to last year, and then #DiVine comes back just a bit later. The founders of #Divine were interviewed by the same podcast and admitted that they were inspired to an extent by it. So season 2 is just one episode and it's just an interview with the creator of #DiVine

      @hpod16

      I don't think you need an invite, it's based on #nostr which is (another) open social network

      If your mastodon account is bridged with #bluesky , or if you have an account there, you can ask about #divine to @rabble.nz

      @luca @hpod16 @rabble.nz you do not need an invite if you’re setting it up as a nostr user who controls their own keys. We only have invites for folks who want to use the hosted auth server. Those folks expect a more traditional app experience and we need time to make sure that we’re able to scale it and fix bugs.

        @hpod16 This is nice, but please consider loops.video as it is on the fediverse. That is better.

        Check out my account on Loops!

        @tofm2 @hpod16 I don’t think loops is as open or decentralized as divine is but it’s also trying to do its own thing. Divine is about a specific kind of short video, 6 seconds and aggressively filtering out reposted and ai content.

          So #Vine is coming back, this time as #DiVine!
          Does anyone know anyone who can get me an invite code? I want in!
          The App is coming back with no #AI allowed, and will allow people to own their own content.

          For the geeks: it's built on the #OpenSocial protocol #Nostr, and apparently they're experimenting with integrating the #ATProtocol, future integration with #ActivityPub, the protocol behind #Mastodon and #Flipboard.

            @rabble Thanks for explaining! So you're working on Divine? How interesting!!
            Someone did give me an invite code, but I haven't recorded anything yet.
            I wanted to do so at a flower show, but the internet wasn't working because there was too many people there, so the app wouldn't load. Which is, I guess, a trade off when you only allow in-app filming.

                  Vine has a big nostalgia value for me, I’ve explained that before.
                  And this kind of gotcha-style comment is no fun. Please refrain from that in the future

                    @rabble @tofm2 @hpod16 AT protocol isn't actually decentralized in practice.

                      @Emerson61 @rabble @tofm2 @hpod16 AT wasn't mentioned. (Other than the app might bridge/integrate with AT and AP). It's a Nostr app. Very decentral.
