An example of how two things can be true and exist simultaneously and the complexity of holding that:

    1) Occasionally, I smile proudly, knowing I achieved one of my life goals of getting an offer of admission to the University of Victoria.

    2) I can’t accept it. I can’t go. I’m too chronically ill. I don’t have proper healthcare. I can’t fight against my body anymore. Insert complex grief.

Holding space for both accomplishment and defeat at once is a complex experience. I wanted to share and shine a light ☀️ on this experience if you’re also walking along a similar path.
