    I know very well that I shouldn't do this.
    I've been looking at the weather forecast for our holiday next week.
    We are going to Cumbria.
    We are either going to get wet, or very wet.
    Can someone please explain how the Lake District might be a bit damp? πŸ€”πŸ™‚

      @MikeFromLFE

      Well, it could be worse.
      There could be a drought. And people complain about droughts. Always.

        @MikeFromLFE We had a week long holiday in Grasmere a couple of years ago and it rained literally every day we were there. Some days more, some days less, but definitely no dry days.

        And you know what? It was one of our most fondly-remembered holidays. As long as you've got some decent waterproof gear you can still happily go hiking in the hills in the wet, and there's nothing quite as welcoming as a warm and cosy Lake District pub when you're dripping wet and want to warm up and relax.

        I hope you have as good a holiday as we did.

          @losttourist
          Thanks for the reassurance!

          Unfortunately hiking and the hills are out for us because I'm going with my wife and daughter who both have limited (but different) mobility issues.
          That's not to say a warm & cosy pub wouldn't be welcome!

          We're staying closer to Grange Over Sands and the coast, so we'll have various options.
