What are we retraining them for? Canada seems to be preparing our future economy to run exclusively on ‘AI’ and ‘digging shit up’.
Seems to me that these workers already know how to do the latter?

Seems to me that these workers already know how to do the latter?
In the future, AI robots will dig the mines and the former workers can spend their lives being retrained for new jobs that won't exist.
Or maybe they can build homes inside those huge mines (dug to find handfuls of diamonds) because life on the surface will become untenable?
