It occurred to me this morning that it has now been over a decade in which we have all been forced to hear something about Donald Trump every fucking day - often many times a day.

There are people in journalism who have no experience of a world in which we actually covered many different topics in a day.

I feel like I've been mentally force fed McDonalds for ten years non-stop.

I would like it to be over before I die, please.

    @Remittancegirl You're not alone.

That which is unsustainable tends, in the end, to be unsustained.

American bankruptcy is proceeding slowly still. It will accelerate. Iran will be what Suez was for the UK.

    SamuelJohnson (@samueljohnson@mstdn.social)

There was a case years ago of people taking a corpse to a local post office in Ireland to claim the deceased's old age pension https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/courtandcrime/arid-40916423.html American democracy is almost there. Instead of a corpse, a brain dead president. Instead of indigent criminal relations, billionaires and their hirelings. America is well past the merely naked king stage. The whole world can see it.

@danielsreichenbach I think that is very much the case for some of them. For some, he is everything they want to be. What a dark aspiration, right?

@Remittancegirl yeah, it's frightening and absolutely nonsensical for me how one can even consider this. This is so not how American PR presents the country 😑

I hope people will wake up. All over the world.

@Remittancegirl @jzb I remember thinking what a relief it was, after Biden was elected, to not have to be constantly hearing about US politics for a while. (As a non-American.) It dialed back down to only a 'normal' amount of news for a while.

(and then, of course, when the multi-year presidential election process started up again, it returned to the previous ridiculous levels.)

@Cass_m yeah I honestly don’t understand how the yanks get anything done when 50% of every presidential term is spent in campaign mode, but that’s another matter.

@Remittancegirl I spent ten years warning people to not enable or elect him. Yet the most common American reply I am getting is: "he is one of us". That seems to be the creepy sentiment shared throughout society.

I worry, people enable him because they want to be like him... 😑

I live in a very red area and have noticed that many people here, including some of my family members, are tribal to the point that one loud intimidating voice keeps the others toeing the MAGA line. It also tends to degrade their mental and moral growth. Churches are also extremely culpable here, as is Faux news.

@Remittancegirl Yes! I DO have TDS, but it's not my fault. It's a natural and sane reaction to having the same clown looming everywhere you look saying some stupid thing, and a whole society talking about the stupid thing ad infinitum. I have the fatigue you have when your body is fighting infection, only it is psychological and spiritual. My defenses are always up and I know I won't be able to rest until he is dead.

I feel like I've been mentally force fed McDonalds for ten years non-stop.

I would like it to be over before I die, please.

@Remittancegirl Same. I live for the day, the month, the year, when I never have to hear that fucker's name.

It occurred to me this morning that it has now been over a decade in which we have all been forced to hear something about Donald Trump every fucking day - often many times a day.

There are people in journalism who have no experience of a world in which we actually covered many different topics in a day.

Donald Trump has figured how to rape everyone. He knows it. It's only why he's happy. His every impulse is smothering violation and I am motherfucking tired of this ridiculous mobster loudmouth asshole doing it. His entire life is the utter failure of Humankind.

We are the corrective measure of our own Human disease. We must be the vaccine to his constant violations and attacks on our whole.

My sister was taught that as a psychiatric professional if you always say to yourself "oh no, not that guy" when you look at your schedule, this is a good diagnostic hint that the person has a personality disorder. Trump is that guy and we all have him on our schedule EVERY day.
